  i'm rather sick inside right now.

  i just found out the sicko that molested my friend, his daughters, grand-daughter, and others just got reinstated.

  he's been disfellowshipped for awhile now.

  From the silentlambs perspective, my guess is that listing the congregation name is taking a legal risk that they simply can't afford. I'm sure they'd love to list the offenders by name, address, and social security number, but it's just not practical.

  Depending on where you live, though, the town list could be useful; it's not ideal but it's better than nothing.

  The "Conscious of their Spiritual Need" Class

  i've started considering myself one of the members of the conscious class.

  and this post is aimed at those still in and feeling trapped.. at matthew 5:3 jesus said: happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.".

  that being the case i'm going to be partaking of the emblems this march 30th, god willing.. if you're still in and your eyes have been opened, if you are conscious of a spiritual need within you that the wt isn't recognizing.... then praise god and christ and keep remembering the ransom sacrifice that purchased your salvation and that for all people.. if you're of the "conscious class" partake this year.

  Never heard or met anyone who believes any such thing until this thread. I find it difficult to believe that it's a majority belief among Christendom.

  dssynergy, many of us have discovered that there aren't two different callings. Jesus opened the way to heaven. Period. The great crowd is in heaven. The 144k are in heaven. The 144k may or may not be a literal number but it doesn't matter since it isn't the exclusive heavenly group. As Christians, we are instructed to partake.

  Sorry, there will be no pet lions if you die. But there will be something better. Earth is for the living.

  (Note: I don't know whether I believe in the above or not, but I have come to the conclusion that it's what the Bible "really" teaches.)

  after years in a high-control group i cannot seem to accept any form of control from an organisation.

  i am fascinated to know how others cope with finding another group to asscociate with.

  i am so cynical i might never be able to be a part of any group again!

  Same here. I'm not going to join any group or religion that obligates me to do things ever again. Personal freedom is too precious and I have half a lifetime to make up for.

  How long is a "generation"?

  there seems to be so much controversy over defining what exactly a 'generation' is.. i have heard it said a generation is 25 years; some claim it is 40 years; and some even say 70 years.. i think the scriptures describe the 70 years as life expectancy, with mightiness 80 years or something like that.. i don't think it is accurate to define the length of generation as the same length of time as life expectancy, but i could be wrong.. .

  anyway, i am wondering if anyone has ever done the math on this scriptural clue:.

  matthew 1:17 so all the generations from abraham to david are fourteen generations; and from david until the carrying away into babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into babylon unto christ are fourteen generations.. if one follows the lineage and a date timeline, would this give more accurately the approximation of a generation?.

  I found it interesting. Don't agree with all of the doctrinal changes (though I do several) but I give them props for admitting error and taking whatever heat comes rather than succumb to fear of man, fear of lost income, fear of humiliation. I know a group of guys who could learn a lesson from that.

  Is that one of the "Insight" volumes behind Dr. Feazell in this film?

  BTW, I'm only around 25 minutes into the movie and finding it quite interesting. Thanks for posting it, Tweetie and Poppers. I'll try to post more reaction if I have some.
